Racing Instructions

Due to the fact that Fleet 1 does not use a traditional race committee boat, flags as starting signals are not used.  An audible system is used instead.  The first chart explains what Race Start Signals are.  The next chart explains the Course Definition Placards.

The “A” mark is the primary windward mark.

The “B” mark is a secondary windward mark and will always be to the starboard side of the “A” mark as seen from the S/F line. This mark may or may not be used.

The “C” mark is a leeward mark and will be to leeward of the S/F line. This mark may or may not be used.

The “E” mark is a gibe mark and will be off to the port or starboard side of the S/F line. This mark may or may not be used.

The "G" stands for the start/finish flags and the gate they form. When the “G” mark is used, Boats shall pass between the two S/F flags and then round either the port flag to port or the starboard flag to starboard regardless of the course placard color and then head to the next mark.

If there is a 180 degree wind shift, the now windward mark will be “A”, the Leeward marks will be “C” or “S” etc.
