2020 Spring #1 - Recap

Post date: Mar 08, 2020 9:0:42 PM

Well, it was an interesting day to say the least! (If you want all the gory details, make sure you come to the fleet meeting this Thursday March 12.) Our efforts to have the 1st start at 11:30AM were, seemingly, thwarted at every turn, but we did manage to get 4 races in, albeit starting about an hour late.

The weather was mixed - mostly decent with sun/light rain cycles throughout the afternoon and a bit chilly. The wind was good - a bit blustery the first race or two, then calmed down a bit. We had 4 boats show up although our start delay and the increased winds knocked us down to 3 racing. And with good wind, we even varied the course from race to race. All in all, really fun day to get rid of some of the cobwebs (believe me, Stephen and I had plenty) and get back into racing.

Hope to see more boats out there in 2 weeks - please remember to indicate your participation on the spreadsheet I sent out earlier. And for any non-boat owners who'd like to participate, we typically have a couple of boats being single-handed by skippers who LOVE having crew!
