Habagat #808

Skipper – Fausto DeGuzman  Crew – TBD

San Juan History

Fausto purchased Habagat in 2006 after learning to sail at the Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle.  He has come a long way from his first couple times around the course and now consistently flies a spinnaker in Fleet #1 races.

National Results:

This will be Habagat’s first Western National appearance.  So make sure you remind him about the rule where Novices must start 30 seconds after boats which have raced in Nationals before ;-).

Often Heard Aboard:

“and… ACTION”  (Fausto is the highest rated San Juan 21 movie producer on YouTube and is under considerable pressure to submit his 2009 NOOD footage for consideration in next years Cannes Film Festival. )

Cocktail of choice:

Margaritas… but only if they are the shade of green which matches the hull.

Other Notes:

Habagat appears to have the only SJ21 rudder ever made out of depleted uranium.  It weights a quarter of a metric ton, and requires 16/1  tackle to position in place.  Thank goodness no one has ever told Fausto that burying the transom is not a fast way to sail, or nobody would ever be able to catch him.
